Augmentation Mastopexy (Breast Uplift + Implants)
Mastopexy (Breast Uplift) & Augmentation Mastopexy (Breast Uplift + Implants) can both dramatically improve the ‘look’ of sagging breasts.
Augmentation Mastopexy is an operation that combines the benefits of Breast Augmentation in terms of improving the shape of one’s breasts with those of a breast lift with repositioning the nipple in the centre of the breast mound.
Breast Augmentation alone can achieve both of these goals, however women with particularly empty breasts and down-turned nipples often require excessively large implants to fill out the breast skin and return the nipple to its central position.
Augmentation Mastopexy commences with insertion of a breast implant as for a standard Breast Augmentation and concludes with a Mastopexy to centralise the nipple-areolar complex over the breast mound. The incision passes around the areola, then runs vertically down to the crease beneath the breast before running horizontally along the breast crease.
The combined cosmetic procedure is technically more challenging than either procedure performed in isolation and carries with it higher risks of potential complications but it is the operation of first choice in appropriate patients.
Augmentation Mastopexy may be performed alone or in combination with other operations including Liposuction, Abdominoplasty or Bodylift.
