Breast Lift
A breast lift raises and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour.
Mastopexy involves elevating the breasts to the position they once occupied prior to middle age, children and breast-feeding, while at the same time restoring a youthful shape.
The incision, and subsequent scar, varies from minimal to more extensive depending of the degree of lifting required. Scars may simply circumnavigate the areola (pigmented skin surrounding the nipple) or include a vertical component passing down to the crease beneath the breast or include the above in addition to a horizontal scar within the breast crease. Irrespective of the length of the scars, they fade with time. The breast tissue itself is elevated and supported in a youthful position. Occasionally a small amount of breast tissue needs to be removed to assist with the elevation process.
Mastopexy may be performed as a stand-alone procedure or in combination with Breast Augmentation with the insertion of breast implants. There are additional considerations for Augmentation Mastopexy that we can discuss during your consultation. Other procedures may be performed in conjunction with Mastopexy including Liposuction, Abdominoplasty and Bodylift.
Breast Lifts are commonly performed in Sydney, and throughout Australia. They are minimally invasive and very well tolerated.
